Dan, let me get this straight and clear. I should use the RT 1.2 kg springs for the 2008 R1 which are fitted on the bike right now. I should make the suggested mods to this set up.

These RT springs came with 6 washers/spacers per fork spring to match the length of the OEM springs, these are in the forks now along with the OEM spacer tube.

So I use these 6 washers/spacers in addition to 23 mm longer spacer tubes or remove those 6 washers and just use the 23 mm longer than OEM spacer tube?

These spacer tubes are the ones which fit just below the top fork cap?

Thanks for your help man, it's difficult to problem solve 10k kms remotely and I really appreciate your patience and help.

You can use those. The alternate spring used for your bike is the 38x250, used in the 07/08.

I do not use the washers unless they are needed to center the spacers, or they are replacing OEM washers.

Just a tube that is 23mm longer than the OEM spacer tube.

RT told me to use those spacers that came along to match the length of the new springs with the OEM springs. I had to put all of them in to match it.

Perhaps with the 23mm longer spacer tube I won't need them?

About RT providing that tube, can you get a part number off them for me to order in case I can't fabricate it here?

Those washers are only about 1.5mm, so they can't make up the difference. Best to buy some tubing of the same inner diameter and cut to fit. You can contact them after the holiday for some tubing from them, but by the time they add shipping you'd be paying several times the price of what you could procure some locally for. But if you'd like, I can check with them when they open again. PM me your mailing address and I'll let you know. Any PVC or metal tube would work as long as it's the same inner diameter (there is a plastic washer that goes on the top of the spring that locates and centers the top of the spring, since it's a smaller diameter than the bottom. Need to fit that.).

Oh no. Most of the OEM stuff is thin plastic.

Just be sure to use the OEM length spacers with the 250mm springs.

I got the 3827xxx springs (for 2011 R1) now. They are the exact length as the OEM springs. There were washers in the box, do we need to use these washers?

On the 3825xxx (for 2008 R1) we used them to match the length of the stock springs since the 3825 was shorter but the 3827xxx is the perfect length.

Second question, I need a 1.10 kg as per my weight, now since I'm using a 1.0 kg will using the washers help with the preload or firming it up a bit?

No, don't use the washers. Install the springs alone and measure sag.

I know man, I'm trying. I'm not obese or anything, just tall and big built. I'm a power lifter so the extra bulk does help me ;-) I've put on a bit of kilos in the last 1 year due to personal shit but have started training hard again.

cool i hope the personal shit has worked its self out and with training you can drop a few kg's and get your suspension issues sorted

Thanks man. Suspension issues are sorted, they weren't really issues except for the fact my vendor sent my wrong RT springs and me being in India is not conducive to get good valving work done.

7 days of track riding coming up starting next week.

im sure they would have no problem posting out to you when i have my forks and shock serviced they send me all the boxes and packing and arrange the collection and i have them back within 4 days fully serviced they are about the best company i have ever dealt with if you ever watch bsb they are track side as so many bsb and a couple of wsb riders use there products
