Do any of my Aussie brethren know of a reliable carbon wrapping operation in Aus? I have lovely twill weave CF all over my bike, all except for these side fairing pieces. I have some Powebronze plain weave ones, but they're fairly shit!
I wan't to get the exposed section of these OEM pieces wrapped in twill.
A guy on my local sport bike forum swears by these guys and sends all his stuff here because the work is so great. Geelong isn't far from Melbourne right?
Yeah...I've got one of their tankpads. They're actually in Queensland, they're just called Geelong CC! I have found with larger CF companies, that they can't be fvcked mucking around with one off stuff. And they either charge a fortune, or do a shit job, or just laugh you off.
It's the small volume, enthusiastic type of dude I think I need for this one.
Member sykor1 has put me in touch with a guy in Sydney who specializes in one off bits. I'm going to give him a buzz on Monday, I'll keep you guys informed if anything good comes out of it.
Oh sorry man I thought I saw you post on here that you were from Melbourne. That makes Philip island a hell of a drive from adelaide! My dad is originally from Melbourne is why I was asking.
If you don't find any joy with someone making entire pieces Ben, try getting in touch with the Jap company (I only have the link on my work PC I'm afraid) that can wrap anything in genuine cf.
Expensive and technically 'cheating', but it would get the job done.
I mean wrapping the oem plastic in real twill carbon fibre. Then coating it enough clear to sand flat and buff, so it ends up looking like it was made out of it. But all the oem fairing mount points that hang off these parts, will line up properly. I've got a few leads, I'm waiting on return emails. :thumbup
