Just got this mailing in from Yamaha Belgium (see scan)

Apparently there is a special edition R1 coming out, Rossi replica.

All the stickers are cleared over so they wouldn't get damaged or peel off.

Engine-wise, it's a standard R1.

There's some changes though:

Different bodywork
Different blue (Racing Blue)
Diff. Front fender
Diff. Rear fender
Diff gas tank
Diff. Seat

Looks cool as hell tough.

nothing is "different" Aside from the graphics...id still be surprised if this is all they do...then again, if it is, its a sign that the 06 is going to be a carry over model.

Also, if they did a replica, im sure Gauloises would want their name splattered all over it, not the Go!!!!!!

I may still be wrong, but this certainly makes it seem like we'll have the same r1 for next year....They put ALOT of r&d into this generation, I won't be surprised at all if it spans 3 years 04-06. Then a completely new one (with new tech like traction control) in 07.

Looking at the pic, i don't understand what you say changed? What's different about the front/rear fender, gas tank, seat...etc...body work? All looks like a paint job to me.:dunno
