Here is a pic of my '00 R1. Right now I'm changing it into a naked/streetfighter bike. The bike has swing arm extension, lowered, '03 rear shock and some other goodies. The paint is BMW Interlagos blue.
I'm at a custom car/truck/bike show this weekend with the bike. It's funny how people react to it when they see the bike. I get questions like, is this a Buell or mostly what kind of bike it is.
So I won 2nd place, which is way more than what I expected. The other bikes were mostly the usual stretched, fat tire, chromed out hayabusas, gsxr's and so on. My bike isn't the show type bike, but it's good to see that the judges appreciated the work that was put into the bike
So I took the bike to the scales today to see how much it weighs. I was a bit stunned when I was told it weighed 360lbs. I don't know what regular R1 weighs, but I'm super happy with what mine weighs now
I always wonder why companies tell you the dry weight of a bike. You can't ride a bike with it's dry weight. Put all the fluids in it and gas it up, then put it on the scales. Is dry weight even with a battery in it? lol
Made a new exhaust protoype to get a different sound. I love how it sounds, the rumble at idle. Now I can make a nicer looking one with the same chambers inside
So I went to the harvest classic bike show this fall and put my bike in the show, they have a class for modern or custom bikes there. The discovery channel was there too, shooting some footage for Jesse James' Outlaw garage.
There is a clip of that episode on Discovery channel. Funny, how of all the bikes there at the harvest classic show, they show my bike the longest on that clip. Jesse James rode his Ducati Desmosidici to the rally. That is a sweet looking and sounding bike
I keep tryin to tell you.....you can make some serious money producing more parts and selling them here!
Also, any chance we could get more pics and some specs on your new cf airbox????
