Unhappy Cooling alternatives NEED HELP

Can anyone help me with my cooling needs. My engine tends to run hot when I get into the city. I have heard that there are dual fan applications for some models. I have a 98-01 R1. Does anyone know any sites that have this dual fan application or are there any other cooling applications I could use. Help is greatly needed

How hot does it get? Fan should kick on at 220F cool it down to 210F and kick off. It will repeat this until you can get some decent air flow through the radiator which means 45 to 50 mph.

How hot is it getting as stated before? Also check your coolant level and try something simple like water wetter or a product like that first!

Its simple;

Add more water to your rad...not coolant.

For the switch,locate the fan switch on your rad,top portion right side when sitting on the bike;

Its the white 2 wires plastic plug.

Take to lenghts of wires,insert/weld/crimp whatever fits you in the plug/wires;fix both ends of the wires on a 10amps switch,fix the switch somewhere handy (I choose the little triangular plastic piece at the frame/subframe junction...flip the switch and the fan will come on if the ignition key is on.

OMG your bike has not blown up yet at that temp I would be shutting that bike off at 240 or get to moving to cool it off or you are going to do damage. I could be wrong but I think 245 is a danger point on these bikes.

I ve seen my temp go up to damn near 280, my bike has been running fine, whenever my bike gets that hot i usually shut it off or get on the highway fast. Your bike wont blow up, if such things like that were possible I dont think the bike would hit the market

on the same note.. i usually average around 190 degree Temp on the engine, and it fluctuates between 175 - 220. Usually just around 190... is this normal?

212 or something like that is boiling and a bit higher for coolant. No you're bike isnt going to blow up, but at 280 warping a head is a very real possibility.

At 280 degrees it will probably be puking antifreeze in my owners manual the warning light comes on at 243 degrees and says to shut bike off and let it cool off. Yes at that temp you will probably wrap something at 245 I would be shutting my bike off I would not take any chances.
