Unhappy grinding and clacking noise from rear wheel..please help

man this suck just brought my first yamaha it's an r1 2003, love the bike man.. but about 2-3 days ago i started hearing a clacking noise that the best way i can describe it..

at first i thought it was the chain so cleaned that out .. the chain is spotless.....still make noise, then i checked the breaks what ever that things (#1 in pic) called is grinding on my rotor.. so i took the rotor off checked on a flat table its doesn't seem like it's warp it has like half of a mm of play..

the thing is when i tighten the wheel lugs to where it should be.. (so i can lock the lug with the pin) it pulls it so close that its starts grinding and making that clacking noise.... also when spinning the wheel go lose to tight.....
my question is how tight should lug be... is the clacking noise coming from bearings, lugs to tight, rotor or what ever that thing is call in #3...

please help thanks in advance

check wheel bearings (3) and cush drive lugs.

I used to have the same grinding noise and a repetitive tick from my back wheel of my last CBR.

Looked for all possible causes but only found out when the bearing cracked and the rear wheel locked up. Lucky for me i was real slow at that time.

Also lube the chain heavily and see if the sound subsides and look if any part is rubbing against the chain guard or swingarm

btw your picture is of the rear brake calliper. That could also be rubbing against the disc

Would the bearings and or cush drive lugs move the rotors closer to the calibers...and how would I check if bearings are messed up and what is a cush drive lug...sorry very new to bike but good with cars....

pull your wheel and inspect them , also make sure all spacers are present and in proper position.
