Well some mis-fortune has hit the household. My wife has been sick with vertigo for the last couple of weeks and got laid off. She is currently looking but we are hurting so sacrifices must be made.
I appear to be a newbie to the forum and I am to this one. I am an established member on
www.r1-forum.com. screen name is RavenR1. You can call Shane @ tobefast.com and ask his opinion of Brandon Kern if you want to verify that I am a reliable seller. I just sold my 2005 R1 located in this thread
http://www.r1-forum.com/forums/showt...hreadid=147480
The buyers name is Brad and he will also vouch for me on my reliablity.
That said, Here goes.
This was Robert Jensen's '03 R6 (named Betty,
http://www.pimpkat.com/images/brajen%20pics/jensen.jpg ) He sold this and his B bike to Greg Melka who raced it to the #5 plate expert in 2004. I purchased it from him in Nov of this year and I have had it on the track twice. This is a brief discription from an original e-mail when i purchased the bike from Greg Melka.
Yes, the bike runs just fine on pump gas. Chad often has/wants me to as pump gas has detergents that clean the valves, fuel injectors, etc.
Dynos.. If you know much about them, they are relative ONLY to that individual dyno. IE: You dyno a bike on one dyno it may read different on another dyno. A dyno is a tool to get a baseline, make a modification, and see if the HP goes up or down. What i CAN tell you is it makes only 3hp less than my 2004 r6 that has a thinner head gasket. It makes 11 HP MORE than a bone stock 2003 R6 as i have the dyno runs to prove it.. My friend paul has a bone stock r6, no pipe or anything that made 98hp. On the same dyno with MR1 fuel my bike makes 109 HP. VERY strong. For FUSA it actually has to be "detuned" with a different map and run 1/2 pump gas- 1/2 U4 VP fuel to get under the HP restrictions for FUSA sportbike.
THis is a COMPLETE package, not a bike that someone then throws some parts at. THe suspension was tuned ALL year by ROb jensen and he won $98,000 in yamaha contingency money on it that year. I bought it at the Race of CHampions in 2003 after he had just rebuilt the motor. I raced it for 1 full season in 2004, and it has been my back up bike this year. You will go faster than any bike you have ridden as it is so well set up. THere are bikes out there now with more HP, but they are "superbikes" with different cams, thinner gaskets, high compression pistons, titanium rods, etc. There is NO need to do that with the great bikes today. Making minor modifications like the head and case milling, and good mapping make for a powerful, yet VERY reliable bike you dont need to worry about blowing up all the time.
