Do you have a mac? I find that many times .wmv files won't play on my mac. It sucks.

Re: How to Get Cut-Off - Video
Holy crap Mike, that ass that cut you off is the same ass that ran me off the track coming out of turn 11 (for those of you that aren't familiar with Barber, turn 11 would be the first turn that he cut Mike off in). I had to run in the grass for a couple hundred feet because of that dick.

Awesome looking track!!!
I have a different take on that vid though. If your looking to pass, it's your responsibility to do it safely and taking the inside of a turn just before the apex is not what I would consider the best spot. I don't think that guy cut him off, I think he was running his line. Also, on-board video like that leaves some illusions. I'll bet the rider with the camera knew that he was going to cut in on both corners, and backed off to avoid an accident.
Every org I've done track days with have 2 or 3 levels and each has everything to do with where you can and cant pass. Oh, and they also frown on wheelies.
That's my 3 beer take on things.

This guy seems to be just dumb and apologizes after the 2nd cut-off .. (the only one he noticed prolly)
Have wrecked also due to some ass like that, except the dude that ran me off did it on purpose. Afterwards he even found it amuzing i went down.
My day will come. Some sort of Rossi/Gibernau trick

It looked to me like those were legit straightaway passes and the guy re-took the position on corner entry. In my opinion that is only acceptable in a real race.

It's the passing rider's responsibility to make a clean pass and stay out the the line of the bike being overtaked. If you are setting up for the pass, set it up and get past. shooting up the inside and taking away the line of the other rider is a sure way to risk causing a crash. I would likely have had a little talk with the video bile rider about safe passing strategies and passing etiquette.

I'm with PowerJunkie.
The guy on the Duc was taking the proper lines.
If you haven't made the pass before the apex, let him have it.
I've been to Barber twice.
Excellent track.

I guess you just did, since I was the one who was trying to get around this rider...
I don't see were EITHER of us did anything wrong...
The guy simply can not hold a line...
Two different times I tried to pass him, saw that he could not take a proper line thru the Turn, so I waited until it was 100% safe to pass down the front straight...
Not worth risking in a Morning Pratice...Had it been a Race, I surely would have stuffed him the 2nd time and made him yeild...

You are correct...I knew he was, you can see me watching him in the reflection of the Cluster...
Dude could not hold a line...
Not worth risking a "stuf" pass in Morning Pratice...

I meant in reference to a track day, not a race. If it were a race practice, i wouldn't likely say a word.

Mike is right. This cat couldn't keep it planted. Look at the steering movements. ONE STEERING INPUT AND FORGET IT! Maintenace throttle and then roll on and twist it to the stops. He clearly doesn't know how to use the twin's powerband. I wouldn't even ride on the same track with someone that noobish.

the guy obviously isnt smooth through the corner and its your responsability to pass clean in practice and track days axtrakter did the right thing and waited till the straight like he said though during a race , dont wait
thats the problem with waiting to last part of a braking zone to pass its much safer to get the pass done early in the breaking zone, but some guys make that very tuff and some times it doesnt come out that way
its easy to say now watching the vid but if after he cut you off in the first left you would of hung back at the entry of the next right so you wouldnt have to wait for him to start his drive out of the corner i bet you would have blew by him before the next corner

I just watched it twice. Looks to me like the guy on the duc is hitting the lines, and the r1 rider is not.
First time was nothing, second time the duc guy was pushing a bit, but in my opinion he was on the correct line.
If someone did that to me at a track day i would not give it another thought.
