They did what? They can actually take your bikes, there? Obviously with proof they can take you license away, here... but reguardless of how unsafe we ride them, as long as the bike is street legal then they.. oh wait, your bikes are street legal right?

Yea man--It really sucked--They pulled up next to us and asked for licensce registration and our keys. We could'nt exactly run because they blocked the road off. They took my '02 R1, an '01 Ninja 9R, an '02 GSXR-600, an '02 R6, and a '99 R6. We might get them back when we go to court in mid November but they said that they can auction them off if they want. The cops got our video tape and saw all of our footage so we were screwed. Everyone be careful and don't stay at spots too long or else you might fall into the fate that we had. ----T-MaNN IBP Rider forever bike or no bike.

Wow, that's harsh brother.
I've had friends caught fooling around, and they've been taken down to the station for a grilling, but never had their bikes taken away. They can't here, as is my undertsanding, the most they can do is make you park it and walk home (if they're not talking you down to the station). Obviously they can take you lic. away.
Maybe another Australian (Perth) can confirm this... or update my info

That sucks big time! Hope you get your bikes back. That is something I worry about when people are video taping, even if you get away if they get caught you get caught.

I would say that is a bunch of crap if they auction of your bikes. I ride around in Lafayette, Indiana since I go to school there. There is a stunt group, Tilted Visions, up here. The county mounties have decided every sport bike rider up here is associated with them. They have basically said, if you get stopped, no matter what it's for, no matter how minor, you will be getting a ticket, and possibly spending a night in the jail.

We were in North Carolina in Gates County--seemed like a pretty quite street but we were wrong. We try to find places out in the sticks because they've been trying to catch us in VA Beach on the highways. I hope we can ride again too I miss my bike so much...

I would imagine that property can only be seized and auctioned if used in a felony crime... I don't think stunting really classifies as that.

i think i just had an epiphone...
does anybody remember (d'uh) a few years ago when all the cops wanted to take a piece out of all the skaters around? chasing them off, citing them for every stupid damn thing they did? CONFISCATING THEIR ****ING BOARDS?!?!?!?!?!
This is ridiculous. maybe we should build Stunt parks. it worked for the skaters, it could work for us too. think about it guys...we could start a movement...we could revolutionize the stunting industry...
now all i need is $15k from everyone on this forum to get started...i promise you'll all get lifetime memberships.
that would rock

I'm nearly positive you're right pacman, I wouldn't imagine that they could take $20,000.00 worth of bike from you and just auction it when fines for reckless/dangerous driving are minimal in comparison.
Maybe that's just us though?
Where in Perth are you? I'm in Cott...

Just another example of how the cops are just modern day PIRATES. They ****ing stole your bikes. They will probably auction them off and split the money. ****ing Pigs! If the ****ing justice system needs more funds I wish they would just raise taxes instead of stealing our property.

Todd, I'm in yokine
I checked with a cop friend of mine, no they can't take our bikes, they can stop us from riding them and make us leave them on the side of the road, or put a work order on them, obviously they can arrest us and take US away from the bike, with due cause... but that's about it.

Man it really sucks not having our bikes-we're all really hoping that we can get them back-but a few of us have bad driving records. The police took the tape that we had out there and are using that against us all. Im looking at getting a dirtbike now like a YZ-125 so I can stunt as much as I want off road and not get busted. Riding on the streets the way we do is an expensive sport. I can just imagine how much time and money Ive put into the court system here in Virginia-I could probably buy another motorcycle with the fines Ive accumulated--I guess we all learn from our mistakes and next time we won't stay in one spot for as long as we did that day.
Another reason why we stunt on the highways is because we're constantly moving down the road and it makes it harder for the police to trap us. They say radio is faster than speed but I proved that wrong a few months ago when they radioed in and were waiting on the onramps ahead of me--I was scared as shit-I held my breath, tucked down and had the throttle open as wide as possible passing some from behind too. Really stupid but when you have a horrid driving record the length of a dictionary, roadway ahead, and an R1 between your legs-its hard to stop...

SBH is/has been working on that very thing for months now - in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Will let you know if/when it materializes...

to all future victims of something like this... if ever you spot the big 50 rollin up. I dont care if they see you do this,, rip the tape and film out of the cameras and smash them. Police cant do anything. The only thing if anything they can do is ticket you for littering. A buddy did that for our group one time and saved our azz. Cops had no proof that we were doing anything wrong so our camera man took one for the team and received a ticket for littering.

Another-P.S.--Long straightaways may seem like the best spots to play on but the cops that took our bikes said that they were hiding behind bushes on the far ends of the street watching. The idea of a sportbike stunt park is an awesome idea-all you need is a long flat are paved smooth. However, the fun part about videotaping on the highways is the sheer crazyness factor of walking past cars on known roads.
A friend of mine in the military that works at a runway used by F-14's and F-8 jets gets us access to the runway on weekends and that is definitly the best spot to play. No police, and the runway is long, wide clean and smooth. A part of me is missing without my bike right now. Anybody have a YZ-125 for sale out there? Im willing to buy and ride anything with a motor and 2 wheels on it. Riding motorcycles rules all and Yamaha is the best
