Sputtering

This past weekend I installed race baffles in the stock cans on my 06, and now I'm noticing a lot of sputtering and pops when i hold a gear say 2nd @ about 5k and just cruse.
Is this normal due to the loss of back pressuer? I love the new sound and even seamed to notice a little better throttle response, but I was hoping that poping and such will go away.

Anyone else here with race baffles having the same thing? Is it just soemthing to live with or will something like a power commander and tuning fix it?

Man my bike does the same thing, but ive got a full system. Ive asked about it several times on here but nobody ever really answers me. Mine is only under light throttle when im just cruising. Doesnt do it if accelerate harder. Annoys the crap outa me though. popin and sputterin and stuff. and i do have a power commander and it still does it. Its not custom tuned yet though.

Yea mine too is just under partial throttle too.
I'm guessing the bike is running rich under part throttle which is causing this, since once you open it up it runs like normal. Someone here has to have delt with this and found the solution. (besides re-installing the stock muffs)

your bike is probably running to lean! if you do ANYTHING to the Exhaust at all, you really need to get a power commander to compensate for the better air flow...
my bike is doing the same thing.. I just got Yosh slip ons, it's running

Well I was able to reduce the "sputtering" by about half without installing a PC.
Just removed the cat. Now it only sputters a little.

And while I had the parts out I wraped them up to save my boys from cooking so much.
(the black looking paint is actually a high temp silicone exhaust spray) Makes the wrap look good.

You can't even notice them once installed.
