New header with existing slip-on????

I am currently running a MIG dual can slip-on exhaust. I previously went with the slip-on so that I didn't lose any bottom end. I have now changed my gearing around and can sacrifice to lose some bottom end.

I am wondering if I can use an aftermarket header with my slip-on exhaust. And will this still give me HP after getting rid of the Ex-Up?

I really want to keep the dual can set-up. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Laser produces headers that are compatible with the OEM silencers and thus compatible with any aftermarket slip-on for ur bike.

How does this compare to an Akropovik or Graves system?

well we are selling it at 650 shipped. It would be wrong of me to compare it to brands I do not have vast knowledge of but, I do know that you cant buy graves or Akra headers, and expect it to fit other brands of aftermarket slip-ons. (I might be wrong due to lack of knowledge on other brands). allow me to express how impressed I was when I got it myself. the bike opened up on the top end of the rev range, and with a bit of tuning, I got it to outperform other 03 R1's with just slipons fitted to them. the headers are designed on a stock bike. and you can clearly see the graph showing a slight improvement on the top end. think of it this way. you are allowing the engine to breathe easier.

What about re jetting? Do you still have to do it with the LASER? If so what do you recommend?

my graves headers from the full system DID mate up with the stock y-pipe and therefore cans. So if aftermarket slip ons have to mount to the stock headers and the graves headers mounted the stock cans, the graves headers also will fit aftermarket slip-ons. I think they want like fuggin $900 though for the headers, which is why I bought the full system.

Please note that i am referring to the 02-03 and 04-06 R1's as well. by the way, the Laser headers are made in Stainless only. this pic is of the 04-06. you will see from the graphs of the 04 model, that there is a huge improvement over the stock one. as i had mentioned before, the headers were designed with the stock tuning of the bike. There is room for further improvement. i would recommend to tune it with a powercommander to fully appreciate and exploit the amazing powerplant.

The Devil headers will also fit stock mid-link pipe and slip-ons......

They specify this on their website.

Here's the linky, 500 for the Devil headers. I think this can be easily resolved by measuring the diameter of the slipon and stock canister plus the diameter of the stock mid pipe and an after market like an akra or graves. Or even a circumference measurement will do too. Any volunteers? I don't have mine anymore...
