07 Gsxr 750 Vs 2003 R1

there is this kid that lives on my street. He has a 2006 GSXR750 with an Akrapovic Full Race System and Power Commander 3 with a map done to it.

He told me that on his way to the local bike nite last week, he raced a 2003 r1 with a full system and a Pc3.

So they were both riding on the highway. So they raced from a Roll at 55, from what he told me. Then he said that they both took off, ripping the gears. He said, he kept up with the R1 in till they hit about 130mph, after he said that the R1 walked on him and left him.

Should I call the flag on this one?
I knew the 07 750's were fast but can they keep up with the R1 like that for that long?
From what I hear the guy on the R1 is a good rider.

Dude, a 06 GSXR 750 is faster than a 98-03 R1 everywhere, 1/4 mile, top speed, acceleration etc.... Your only chance is if you do a roll-on from low rpm.

The 2000 750 was killing the R1.

Of course, is different with the 04 R1, but it's still very very close.

Those 750's are fast as hell!!!

Sounds almost accurate. The R1 probably started leaving him around 100-110.

when the 2000 Gix 750 came out, it was faster 1/4 mile, 0-60, and top speed then any of the liter bikes of the time.

My bike previous to the Raven was an '03 750. I had a couple friends with the '02 and '03 R1, and we rolled a couple times.

He would walk at higher speeds, but down low, that ass was mine. Sorry for you guys in the posts above who think that the 1 is untouchable when compared to the GSXR, but real world experiences don't lie.

That thing was a fu(kin monster, probably one of the best all around bikes made.....
