Where to find extended swingarm?

Hey guys, I'm kinda new to the motrcycle world. Ive had my 03 R1 for about 4 months now , which is my first motorcycle. ( I don't want replies flaming me on how I will kill myself on this thing). Anyways, I've been looking for a 6-8 inch extended swingarm for my bike and have not really found too much. The few I have found have been in the $1600-$2000 range, which is a little rich for my blood. Is this the normal going price for these? Can anyone point me in the right direction in findig one at a more econamical price? Also, I have seen the swingarm extension brackets for $200-$300 dollars all over the place. Are these brackets safe to leave on the bike at all times, or is this something you run at teh track and remove to ride on the street. The last thing I want to do is get these, and have one come loose or snap and make me lay down my bike. I'm too far in debt to go do something like that. Any personal expieriences with these would be greatly appriciated. The reason for the swingarm is I'm going with nitrous over the winter and am looking for ways to keep the nose down as much as possible. What other things could I do to help keep it down. From what Ive heard about straps, they will help on take off, but really dont do much if you are already rolling.

Thanks
Brandon

extensions are fine and if you buy good ones you dont have to worry. stay away from cheap Ebay knockoffs and NYC parts extensions. try tobefast or spencercycle. you can have spencercycle weld up set to you existin swingarm. had mine done that way when there were NO extensions made for 04's. i sent arm to them and it cost little less than $500 to have done.

go to drag racing section and do alot of reading. there lots to do.. lowering it... and yes strap is cheapest best mod you can do for dragracing. suspension and tire setup. and alot more.

drag racing section is here.
