Nat,

UK Europe Models:

1998 4XV1
1999 4XV7
2000 5JJ1
2001 5JJ8

There were over 250 modifications to the 2000 model from the original.

I shall have to leave it to someone more knowledgeable as to whether the 5JJ frame is exactly the same as the 4XV.

I'm almost positive that the subframe portion of the frame was changed from 98-99 to 00-01. Regarding the 'front' portion of the frame, the engine mounts may be the same.

Echoing William's comments, I'd definitely leave this one for the pros.

I know the engine mounts are the same, but the subframe is for sure different.

You can make it work but the seat/tank/small tank plastics won't line up correctly.

You know you could always buy the 00 frame and a better looking 00 tail to go with it

And rather than 40 virgins I would much rather have a 180hp street bike, see an honest 200mph on the street, and ride my street bike in street trim to the track and run 9.70's or 9.80's.

first 3 digits is model code. 04 stuff is 5VY. surely you can find used stuff for older model. be patient and surely one for right price will come up. i had buddyjust buy 98 or 99 for like $1500 running with all plastic. course it needed some TLC but still hard to pass up deal like that
