07 R1 engine start event
Hello~
I just got my 07 R1....
And I found a problem that it's difficult to start the engine smoothly..
I tried 2~4 times for starting successfully when cool....
And tried 2~3 times for starting successfully when hot....
then it was still 2~4 times for me to do this when cool down 3 hours later...
Is there anyone having the same conditions??
Please let me know what's probably wrong.......>_<

How Many Miles is on it?????
Happened to me a few times, But with less than 100 Miles.
Also it was +-40 Deg. Outside while i was Trying to start...
+1
I gave it a little gas and it started right up..
And FYI if you have a Problem getting into first from there.
The Kickstand has a Sensor, and wont go into gear with it down,,,
it will Stall...(Safety Feature)

As soon as it starts to fire, hold the starter in a tiny bit longer. Works everytime.

like others have said, you need to hold the starter slightly longer than you would on other bikes you are used to and give it a little gas.
Also wait for that whiring sound to happen twice before you start.

uuhhh.....maybe try not doing that.
I let mine idle for for a few seconds anyway to let the oil flow.

Sine I got the de-lagged ECU in mine, it takes a little more to get it started when cold. Normally I will hold the starter and it will crnk 5-6 times and try to catch, but won't. I have learned to just keep holding it until the 7th or 8th turn over when it will catch for real and start.
