I have a set of Sharkskinz off my 06 R1. They have 850 miles on them. They are painted 2006 Lotus Elise Orange and a Pepsi Blue color with a silver inlay with some hand painted tiger stripes. They were recently crashed at about 80mph at Roebling and have some damage. The upper took the most damage and cracked in two places. I drilled small holes on both sides of the cracks and safety wired it back together and covered with duct tape. After doing this, I rode the rest of the day in both novice and advanced group with 100% no problems. The tail section paint/gel coat cracked, but nothing structural. The lower has no damage other than the normal rock chips, etc. Attached are a few pictures. E-mail me at
