You must have got it wet............

Let it dry out good and then try again, make sure and disconnect the battery for now thought while everything is still wet.

You might also want to lube up all your electrical connections with a little electric grease, this will help prevent this in the future.

R1 lover has got some good suggestions. I never wash my bike with running water, always use dry wash materials just for that reason. not that it ever happened to me but I dont want it to or potentially worse. I have a manual for 98-03. this is what it says for those "trouble codes":

19-
symptom:
open circuit in the input line from the sidestand switch to the ecu id detected when the start button is pressed. engine unable to start.

probable cause of malfunction:
open or short circuit in wiring harness
malfunction in ecu

34-
symptom:
open circuit is detected in the primary lead of the #2 direct ignition coil
engine able to start, depending in the number of inoperative cylinders

probable cause of malefunction:
open or short circuit in wiring harness
malfunction in the direct ignition coil
malfunction in a component of the ingnition cut off circuit system
malfunction in the ecu

35-
symptom:
opon circuit is detected in the primary lead of the #3 direct ignition coil
engine able to start, depending

Probable cause of malfunction:
same as last

36-
all same for #4

42-
symtom:
no signals are recieved from the speed sensor; or an open or short circuit is detected in he neutral switch
engine able to start

Probable cause of malfunction:
open or short circuit in the wiring harness
defective speed sensor
malfunction in the vehicle speed sensor detected unit
defective neutral switch
malfunction in the engine side of the neutral switch
malfunction in the ecu

a whole can of worms, no?
