Corbin seats
Last year I bought a Corbin saddle and what a huge waste of money thats been so far. I ordered the carbon fiber leather which actually looks great and is also the only good thing that I have to say about this seat. The first problem I had was the mounting bar. The holes in the bar had ZERO tolerence in them which means that if your sub-frame has been manufactured even 1/8" out of spec you are going to be screwed. It took me a bit of time to figure out what exactly was causing a problem. It that amount of time their memory foam has done gotten memorized from pulling back the corner and now does not sit flat against the plastic. To solve the mounting problem I have drilled out the holes on the mounting bar and everything is fine with that now. Lastly I was told that the saddle would be broken in around 1500 miles...Well...after 2500 miles it is as hard as the day I put it on. If it were not for the good looks of the seat I would have ditched it for the stock one.
As for the costumer service they did offer to take it back and send me a new one but I told them I already fixed the fit problem. They did try to help so I could give them a for that.
Has anyone else had an issue with a Corbin saddle before?

I had the same problem with mine, holes did'nt line up. Had to use a round file and hog them out. But more comfortable than stock in my opinion.

How long was it before you thought it was broke in?

I don't think it breaks in. It's just more comfortable than stock period...

Then the people at Corbin are just idiots then. My paper work indicated that it would take 1500 miles to break in and soften up.

I've had mine on for about 18000 miles so I think it's fair to say that it's broken in. It is more comfortable towards the rear, unfortunantly I sit towards the front in normal riding. I imagine that someone with a longer reach might be able to sit back farther and take advantage of the additional padding, but I can't. What it has done is change the point where the seat meets the tank. My ummm, "family jewels" would crush up against the tank more with the stock seat than with the Corbin.
that's my two cents..

I love mine, the bolts didn't line up perfect, but I didn't have to make any modifications.... it was just a tight fit. One thing I love about it is that there is more clearance on the bottom and I was able to mount my Power Commander right under the seat. It is harder than stock and I don't think it will break in, but the shape of the seat is much better and I find it very comfortable.
The Corbin seat is one of the best mods I have done.

I've got a Corbin on my 2001 and it's been working out just like a champ. Easy to take off/put on, superb design and construction, decent support (although it is kinda hard, in typical Corbin fashion) and it still looks good after 6 years. Bummer to hear that you're having probs...
