Techtronics Quickshifter Install Question

Hey everybody

I've got a small question I’d like to get some opinions on. If anybody has ever installed a Techtronics PQS3 quickshifter on a R1 and can give me the answer all the better.

I'm 98% done with the install but can't see to find a proper connection for the tacho signal. I tried the grey wire from the crank shaft position sensor because my Clymer manual says it provides rpm data to the ecu. That didn't work! Now my Datatool DiGi gear indicator makes a connection to the yellow/black wire coming from the meter as a tacho signal so I tried that and still I get nothing.

To give you a better idea of what not working means. The PQS3 has ratio menu and in that menu it has a EnG display that should show the engine rpm. This stays at zero.

For anybody who might want to install a Techtronics quickshifter on a 02-03 R1. The right connection was to use one of the coil negative leads. I used the orange wire form coil #1

yellow/black wire from the meter that works for the Datatool DiGi gear indicator would not work with the quickshifter
