Nosie coming from Head Bearing???

Just came in from riding and I have a popping noise coming from my headstock when I turn the clip ons from lock to lock. Sounds like the head bearings to me...I am gonna try to readjust them tommorrow but what I am wondering is has anyone else had any similar problems with this? My bike is an 06 and only has 850 miles on it...I havent even wheelied it more than 10 times and I come down light so whats the deal.....I must say, this is my first Yamaha product and Im not too happy so far.

Nevermind....went to readjust the bearing...pulled my GPR off and the nut on top of the triple clamp was loose....and no I didnt forget to tighten it when I put the damper on...anyone who has a GPR for an R1 knows that it doesnt bolt under that nut, it bolts to the clip ons....I think it was like this for a while becasue I heard the noise a while ago and it progressively starte to get louder.
