Where did you install your lap timer?

I just purchased an XT Lap Timer and wanted to know where is a good place to mount the control unit and receiver. I have an 04 R1. The bike is street ready, so it does not have racing skins. Pictures would be helpful if you have any.

No pics but on my 05 i mounted my timer on the triple tree next to the center bolt

Did you just use velcro and mount it sideways? Where did you mount the receiver?

I put the reciever on the plastic directly beneath the clipon, the display was put on the bottom of the tach, I cant see anything below 3000rpm, but that doesnt really matter.
