Valve adjustment how often?

05 model with 4000km's on it, when should the valves be adjusted? is it easy to do or should i take it to a shop?

If I recall...the first one isnt until around 15,000 miles.

The valve adjust interval is fairly high (as mentioned above), but if the motor is used for racing I would recommend at least checking the valve clearances more often.

Relatively easy to do if you are handy... you may need a few special tools. If you have never done a valve adjust before, I would suggest watching someone do it first. Also, make a nice neat chart so you can mark down all the clearances first.

the first valve adjustment is not until 26,000 miles.

It's more time consuming then anything, right now i am doing valve check on my bike, taking lots of pictures and doing write up, so by end of this week or weekend i'll have thread up about it to help out.

And don't bring it to the shop. takes alot of time, patiences, decent mechanicals skills and decent amount of tools, but you'll be abail to doit and save alot of money.
