Weird, all the test i've seen the Z06 is faster everywhere, and a lot faster on the track. Here the the dragstrip the HA got both, stock, the Z06 is always faster, and doing between 11.8 and 11.6 all the time.

yup, well I guess I have to go get all the 08 Z06 vs. 08 Viper vids. I remember seeing this episode and just smiled to myself internally. The Vipers are beast but... |

doesnt the z06 get like 20+ mpg too? that is cool if it does....speed and economy

if i could haul material in the z06 I'd trade my Avalanche if for the improved mpg.
How is it possible I only get 16.5 mpg average and a vette gets 28. I know there is a weight difference but GD, surely the factory can make the truck mpg closer to the sportcar mpg.

It is the 6 speed w/ 5th and 6th gear overdrive. 6th is .5:1 I think.

Aerodynamics, gearing and the big torque play a large role..here are few numbers other z owners are getting (from another forum)
"I tell my cruising buddies about the awesome gas mileage the vette has but none of them believe me. I usually get about 31-32 at 65mph on I-5 in the Sea-Tac area."
"I get the same response when i tell my friends about the highway gas mileage in my Z06, which is 28-29 mpg."
"They run great mileage on the highway. I took a 2500mile trip and averaged 29mpg for the whole trip including all the city and touring around driving"
"Just did cruise down to Cali. 300 miles round trip average speed 80-85 mph and a few times at triple digits and my mpg was at 23!"
"I have gotten as high as 38 MPG running 65mph with cruise on ,hell I was only running 1100 rpms"
"Last time the wife and I took a 200 mile trip we got 30.6mpg according to the DIC. When I filled upt he gas tank and did the math it worked out to 31.8mpg though. The DIC was actually low."
"Either way, it was 75mph for 50% of the trip on flat land, and 65mph the other 50% in hilly terrain. No winds. Pretty damn good."
"Like other say though...nobody can believe it when I tell them. People just have no sense I guess of what gearing, aerodynamics and weight can do for a vehicle." |

lol I dont want none..Hey did you know that they are filming Pinks:All Out @ Atlanta Dragway this Saturday? Test and Tune is Friday starting@830a.m. Time trials start on Saturday and they choose the final 16 later that afternoon. |
