if you ride an r1 just open the throttle about halfway in first gear going about 20 and it should pop up. I rode a 600 gixxer for almost 2 years and never popped it up because i was scared of dropping it. 1000's make it simple enough though cuz u dont have to clutch

Wow , you are telling someone that doesn't know how to wheelie to open the throttle halway at 20mph.. Hmm. if it comes up which it will, it will be too high for one, to slow to be controlloble as far as being steady and straight for someone who is just learning...

I have a stock 05' and I don't see the front end coming up at 20 mph with half throttle, I usually have to be around 50mph before it will just come with just hard excelleration, no clutching.

Don't think so...The back tire would break free and you would do a rolling burnout.

Have never wheelied in my life, thought i'd give it a try on my R1 and tried the above, bloody wheel shot up like a rocket, just pulled the throttle to the stop, went down the road vertical, hit the rev limiter, started to drop, snatched 2nd, still up, then 3rd, still up, then 4th, still up, then 5th, stood up and just balanced her up there @ 150mph.

Great advice for a newbie, really helped. Never realised it was that easy !!

Thanks again

12 'o clock is already an epic fail.

Oh this thread is almost two years old, I am sure he is a wheelie king by now or maybe a statistic.
