Orders to Norfolk, Va.
I just got orders to Norfolk, Va today. I should be there by late October. Is there any one in here that can give me the "what's what" about the area and surrounding areas (other than the fact that it's right next to Va Beach)? Thanks.

There are some members from that area.. My dad goes down there a bunch for work.
I'm in the northern va / dc area.. Couple hours away..

I'm down in the northfolk, VA beach area 6 months outa the year. One thing i can tell you right off the bat is the cops are thick on 264. haha There are some pretty decent back roads in the area, light traffic on them. I'll have to look you up when i'm down there. Matter of fact i'll be down there sept28 to 0ct19.

yea theres a nice stretch of road outside of va beach. the cops are pretty thick everywhere. ive been here since aug 06, and to be honest, its ok. if you got any questions ill try to help ya out as best i can.

Thanks ghost. I appreciate that. I'll probably hit you up with a PM once I get there. BTW, welcome to the forum. Make sure to post up some pics of your bike in the R1 pics thread and I believe there's an introduction thread as well. Loots of good info and good people on here.

I live about an hour from Norfolk. I don't really care for the roads in Norfolk because they are to crowded for me. I don't care for riding in all that traffic. What branch of the military are you in?

Well plans change and I got to Norfolk alot sooner than I thought. I just flew in yesterday. Luckily the guy that was shipping my bike got here before I did  :. Now I just have to find a permanent place to stay and house my bike.

Nope not in the service my sister is in the Air Force. She did try to get me to join though but it's not for me.
