Dragon squadron still needs several officers.

We need a Treasurer, an Admin and a Master at Arms.

As well as State Leaders.

Treasurer will be responsible for handling any funds for stickers, starter kits, as well as any official squadron events.

Admin will be responsible for maintaining membership lists, recording and posting minutes from officer meetings, and will be responsible for reports from state leaders and any communications to state leaders.

Master at arms will be responsible for enforcing squadron rules, will make sure all members are licensed, insured and registered, are at least 21 and will report any violations to the C/O. He/she will encourage non licensed members to take an MSF course to become licensed. He/she will update the information with the Admin on a regular basis so that lists are kept current.

State leaders will set up, with help from their assistant, regular events for their area. And will report any problems they are encountering to the admin or to the X/O who will make sure the C/O is notified.

If you feel you can help the squadron out in any of these positions please let us know in here so we can get everything going.

Might be a good idea to explain what the obligations and responsibilities of those positions are!?

Additionally are there any prerequisite background or present qualifications and or experience needed for prospective applicants, especially the master at arms as its a position not often advertised!?

This information and clarification will greatly facilitate the informed application of Squadron Members and answer countless questions that are bound to be asked!

Master at Arms is a typical duty found within US Naval units. The Master at Arms is the person involved in legal matters; reading rights, informing accused of charges, legal proceedings etc. He informs the command on probable cause matters, and enforces punishments.

In the capacity of how he would function for one of our squadrons, he would essentially be the rule enforcer, and advisor to the CO on cases where rules may have been broken.

I believe historically within the R1-Forum, this person has also been referred to as a JAG Officer.

It's a great opportunity for a more outspoken and direct member to employ themselves without becoming completely immersed with day to day organization and logistics within the region.

When I was in the Navy Master at Arms was a sort of security, rule enforcing position. I don't know how to explain it, maybe this can.

Nice info Nine, I think that in the squadron's case though the MaA is basically the person who will assist both the squadron officers, and members with sticking to a sort of squad code (ergo making sure everyone is licensed, insured, and that neither officers nor members are taking actions that would ultimately give the squadron as a whole a bad name). Generally a Master at Arms is the person who informs and enforces the rules in any organization. As I believe we are all adults here I do not think that a babysitter is needed, and instead I will use this position to assist all members of the squad in maintaining with what ever rules the entire squad agrees on. I will help all members with whatever is needed to help them stay as a "member in good standing", and I will assist all officers with what ever duties they have.
If anyone has any thing further that they think this position should include please chime in.
