I have been over to KL a few times. They do have lots of little bikes but u do see the odd supersport. They have a big sportsbike community down there especially out at the Sepang F1 Circuit where they do heaps of track events.
In answer to your question. They do see R1's!

Er - unfortunately it will cost you an arm and leg. R1s go for anywhere between 80 to 100 Malaysian Ringgits (that'll be 23K US to 28K). You could pick a used one for about 50 to 60k. Shipping your bike in - that a spiderweb of red tape and large excise duties.
Ths is a good start for a Malaysian biker website: http://www.msportbike.com
A lot of the expats seem to get by by buying from Singapore. Not too sure on how that works but its heaps cheaper.
On the plus side you get trackdays in Sepang, or you could go about 300km down south to Pasir Gudang where the Singapore guys go to.

lotsa R1 here.. yes the R1 is more expensive here in Malaysia, but I dont think that will be a problem for you guys. If we can afford it, you can too.
But, yes it may cost around USD25-28K for a new bike..

Thanks for all the quick responses folks.
FB666Y really appreciate the heads up and options
pengu it will seem that the prices in Malaysia are similar to those here in Trinidad.
Thanks again.

Paying for a girl isn't considered a date. Just saying.
