You got the answer and a side order of opinions of steering damper use.

That much of a change in geometry is not recommended. It will make the bike twitchy and unstable.

And yes, a damper will help negate some instability and headshake, some don't believe it a good idea to intentionally deviate from having the chassis set up properly and to count on a damper to correct the situation.

Maybe you can comprehend this better!

When you are trying to raise the rear ride height of your bike & at the same time lower the front purely all for cosmetic affects you will severely compromise the handling of the bike even in a straight line let alone carving corners!

The further you deviate from a properly setup bike geometry / suspension the more you will compromise the handling of your bike! In this respect even a 1mm increase in ride height makes a noticeable difference let alone a 2-2.5 inches!!

As you have your mind made up on doing this cosmetic mod you will have to be the judge on an acceptable compromise between a well mannered / good handling bike & a cosmetically good looking one!

The suspension how to write ups linked below are well thought out & written. The second one has pictures to further clarify some steps. I suggest that you familiarize yourself with them & use the procedures to find an acceptable compromise between a well mannered bike or a good looking one!

I agree with what you are saying!

If you ever cross a railway crossing at a leaning angle you will get head shake!

Bikes have a tendency to get head shake under hard acceleration especially on uneven street / freeway surfaces!

A damper helps keep everything in line when you lift the front wheel off the ground and bringing it back down in many situations!

Hit a pothole at speed, especially through a bend and the steering head will become severely unstable!

Bumps and waves in roads can & do cause severe steering head shake!

Just saying!
