Gear/Clutch whine, and other annoying noise

Hi all,
Two questions if I may:

1. I keep hearing (and reading) it all the time, and still- Is the gear whine at low RPM's (3-4k) is really normal? My mechanic is saying everything is alright, but still- I'm worried... Is that normal? do you experience it on your bikes? By the way- Gear shifting is OK and the clutch isn't slipping at all...

2. When I come to a stop or just rolling at real slow speed with clutch pulled in and no brakes applied, I sometimes hear a noise from the bottom left area (under my left foot- clutch area maybe?!), it sounds like there is a dry bearing or something (like a door which its hinge wasn't oiled). Has anyone had or know this phenomenon? I can't say the area this sound comes from is the one I mentioned before for a 100%, so any other ideas? Engine oil is OK (full and new)

By the way- it's an R1, 05 with 30k.
