I have had a Arai Vector and now a Shoei X-Eleven and although the Arai was a smidge better fit for my head, the Shoei is awesome.

funny i tried on every helmet at Indy last year...no agv fit..they all hurt my head..only the Arai quantum 2 and the top dog Arai fit just right.....the rf 1000 did not or the x-11....but the new rf1100 has a different shape i believe because it does feel good. the thing is the Arai is about $30 cheaper...chit man i dont know..

Pick whatever fits best. You do have to wear it.

does the rf 1100 fog up like crazy like the rf 1000 does? if so what did you do to cut down on the fogging?

Any idea who the chick is in your avatar?
I have an Arai RX7 Corsair, an Arai Quantum, AGV X-Vent and just bought a Shoei X-Eleven. I'm puzzled when people say they have a Arai head or a Shoei head as my Arai and Shoei helmets fit my head just fine.
Competition Accessories has the E-Boz Shoei X-Eleven helmet on clearance for $299 which is a great deal. I haven't been able to raod test mine yet but all of the reviews indicate that it's a top of the line helmet.
I also have a Joe Rocket Carbon Fiber helmet which I wore a few times but it's too big (got an XL). It's much lighter than the others that I own.

Shoei's have never fit me good at all. I have 2 Arai's (Corsair V, RX-7 corsair) and they fit perfect, I couldn't ask for better. I also have a Suomy spec-1r extreme and I cant complain at all, it fits great and love the lid but nothing is like an Arai

Yes. For whatever reason Shoei didnt put the anti fog into the faceshield so it does fog up. Other than that it is the best helmet I have ever tried on.

this is my issue to. i have a big ol bobble head and went with an Arai profile XXL. This was also what an Arai rep at a show stated would be the best 'correct' fit according to them after measuring my melon

I may have messed, and may have a Shoei for sale....i will give it a week or so. but first ride a whistle on the right side...the opening is a little smaller. i wear glasses and it feels like it makes them more visible..with the Arai i can hardly tell they are on. i dont think it is any quieter and i cant tell if the ventilation is any better and my current lid is 10 years old.i am not sayin it is not a good lid ..but i think the wrong one for me....time will tell. any thoughts on this

Ok guys here's my 2p worth. I own a Shoei XR-1000 (UK) an AGV XR2 (UK) and my latest lid, an Arai Vector(Canada). ALL lids fit me perfect. Back in the day you were either an Arai head or a Shoei head and i was a Shoei head. Present day and thats all changed, i just purchased my Arai last December and it's great. I can't seem to find any other Arai that fits me but the Vector is as i said, perfect! As for the noise of the Shoei XR-1000, i use a whisper kit for that but it kills the ventilation so both my visors for this lid have been fitted with the pin lock system which works faultlessly and i would definitely recommend it. So if you think your a Shoei head then try the Vector because i ws suprised and glad that i did. Oh and my vector is the Haga rep for extra awesomeness lol!!
Mike.
