Engine Ticking sound!

Hey , does anyone know about a ticking sound at idle? It goes away on the throttle. Bike has 23k miles on it, any ideas?

Valves are "supposed" to be self adjusting, like so many other things on motor vehicles that claim the same........it doesnt work.

your lucky u have a ticking sound, i have "yamahammer", think im going to rip the top end apart oneday soon and find the problem

yea mine ticks a little but i work at a dealer here in nj and your supposed to get a valve adjustment at 16k or maybe evan a little more either way just take it in for service and save yourself the headache in the long run
