About 2 weeks ago I installed the Yoshimura slip-on exhaust on my 2006 R1.
I'm a newb when it comes to after-market parts so I didn't check for exhaust leaks when I first installed the system. (I know I'm stupid)
I made sure everything lined up and tightened up all of the bolts. I planned on re-tightening the bolts after I rode the bike a few times. I figured the bolts would probably loosen up due to heat and expansion.
Well the other day I was at my older brother's house, (he's a Harley mechanic), and he wanted to hear the exhaust. I started it up and he noticed there was a small leak where the right slip-on meets the y-pipe.
It's not a very big leak, probably about an 1/8".
I just figured the bolts needed tightening. So once I got it home I grabbed the wrenches and started tightening. I started the bike back up and the leak was still there.
I'm not sure how to fix this because I've never installed exhaust on a street bike before.
Can anyone suggest a fix? I thought about putting some metal shim paper in there to see if it helps, but if someone knows a better fix please let me know.
Thanks in advance and sorry for being a newb.
