Not incredibly cheap, but they are pretty rare.

Not at all. All of these companies have deep ties to racing and nearly all of them offer replacement parts individually for everything that they sell.
It takes a small package from Harris in the UK exactly 4 days to get to the US. A 4X4 box from Cleverwolf in Japan takes 5 days
