Suspension Adjustment?

Hi Everyone,

I might have a question that's been discussed ad nauseam before; please bear with me . I just bought an '09 R1 with ~1500 mi, and my prior two bikes were an '06 R1 and '08 K1200S (both sold). My biggest gripe with R1s is that they tend to turn in slow...the '06 was a slow turner that held its line solidly, but refused to lean further mid-corner or otherwise do stuff unless I really "urged" it to do so. This generation's R1 is kinda the same. Now, the BMW loved to "dive" into corners and was very pliant when leaned - I could make adjustments throughout the corner and it just felt more malleable to input (I know it's the way it's designed given its low CG). I'm hoping that some minor suspension adjustments can change my new toy so it finally tips in fast and adjusts mid-corner fast as well. I haven't touched the suspension setup so far and neither has its previous owner...it's still got the stock Dunlops. I weigh 180 lbs, 5'11". Can anyone share what they've done with their suspension settings to make the bike turn-in faster? Thanks!

Drop the forks in the tree. Start at 5mm and work your way down to your liking.
