Those are neat.

Are there any cheaper options that come ready to bolt onto our 130mm spacing? I'm not a fan of the spacer that brembos sells to correct the spacing on the 100mm caliper.

Only Beringer and Nissin that I know of. The Beringer's are the only ones that are fairly priced though.

I'm sure they taste pretty much like all other calipers although I've never licked any lithium alloy ones...

Very true, but as a caliper, they are pretty good and are the norm on the endurance circuit. The issues I had was with their shipping dept. and the fact that they rushed mine out to fill a custom order. If it weren't for the fact that it took so long to get them I'd probably still have a set on the 09.

They cost more than most people's bikes. Are they worth it? Is it like going from 97% peak performance to 99% peak performance?

I realize getting the Nth degree of performance out of motorsports requires exponetial cost in most cases but is the bang for the buck there on these or is it just bragging rights on the coolest shit?

I'd think something like CMC rotors would be far more bang for the buck unless you're already rocking those.

Yes they're worth it to the person that owns parts like these.

It's not just about improving performance, it's the whole 'experience' of owning rare, expensive and unique parts like these. You won't see them everyday, in fact without buying them, many people won't even get to see them, let alone feel, work on and use parts like these.

I understand your question, but the answer's not always a clear yes or no.

It's often a case of who/what you know and keeping your eyes open, waiting a long time and not necessarily just forking over a lot of hard-earned for parts like these.

I own a crabon swingarm which I lusted after as the holy grail of R1 parts, never thought I'd ever see one, let alone own one and then one came up for sale at a silly cheap price because it was incomplete. I'd have been happy hanging it on the wall as art but I made it work, and made it my own. There's no other like it in the world and that to me is worth more than money could buy.

Now just imagine how happy you'd be with a carbon arm!
