Nutrition is overlooked a lot. I've been trying to find the most nutritious foods I can and was enlightened about food irradiation effects.

I have been going to the gym a lot of times as of late and it sure is great. I am not that used to going there and staying for a long time but a new form of interest actually swayed me over to liking it.
Though I am not one of those that are really heavy and hardcore on building muscles and ganging up on their bodies as I just want to keep it lean and help me with day to day riding that I routinely do.

hi guys, i went with the online training about 9 weeks ago, it started in a good way, i got the nutrition and training program.
my weight was 90kg so i started with nutrition and it was very hard for me to track every thing that i eat and wright every thing every day, it took me some time to get close to the amounts that my trainer wanted:
calories: 2200
protein: 195
carbs: 245
fats:45
the fat in my mid section has gone a bit by bit, at first i was told no cardio then i can do cardio for one time a week no more than 30min, then i was told since i am not getting the results i wanted then i have to do cardio every day. after that he told me that i have to get serious and train more so i started doing cardio for 60 min at this time my weight has gone up to 94kg then i got it down to 90kg again but you can see that i have some abs under the fat.
the trainer told me to not get the hart rate above 130 bpm when i train, i told him why? i don't brake a sweat at that hart rate. he told me do not ask this is your first and final warning so i did the normal thing, i terminated this thing.
now i need your help, when i do cardio shod i get the hart rate below 130 or what? my goal is losing fat.

just illustrate, i am 35 years old if i walk at a speed of 5.8 with 4.0-4.5 elevation i will burn in 60 min about 400 calories and that with the hart rate about 115-125 bpm.
if i train elliptical for 60 min and the hart rate about 135 with the intensity on 11-13 my total calories burned is 1100 calories.

a picture of my friend, he doesn't ride but used most of the information in the original thread plus his own research to get his results. he weighed 320 lbs and was extremely unhappy with his body, he started asking me questions and doing research, 4 years later here is the result at 180 lbs:

I just dropped 5 lbs, and the weights still coming off. Been working out everyday for the past two weeks, and starting working out again 3 weeks ago. Finally started therapy on my shoulder, and it's given the ability to hit the weights again. Got the fire lit to get to the gym, and back to eating right again. Started off at about 205, and down under 200 now.
Quick question though. Just heard of Vitargo for post-workout recovery. Any one use or have experience with this?

been hitting it hard. 4 meals a day + 1 shake + 1 protein bar = 6 meals. Focusing on upper body, doing splits, chest/bis, back/tris, shoulders/forearms, and letting swimming and mtb'ing do leg work. Wish I could do proper leg work but I've got something torn in my left knee so squats aren't on the table at the moment. Just happy to be in the gym every day again (I used to be a trainer, and used to be a 5-6 workout a week gym rat). I've studied all this shit for years, as well as nutrition (don't think there is a single exercise or piece of machinery I don't know how to use) so I feel quite bad about letting myself go the past few years but at least I'm back with the fire lit as hard as it ever was.
Using Dorian Yates's philosophy on lifting. Warm it up, nail the living shit out of it (complete failure every set) and gtfo out of the gym. It's keeping my lifting sessions to one hour flat (I need to work on my timing in between sets and exercises) and I'm hoping to get that down to 45 minutes per day. I lift every other day, 1 day lift, next day cardio, etc. In the past I'd just burn myself out after years of lifting. Used to work out at Metroflex where Coleman lifts. Jeez that fvcking guy would do lunges with big weight (300-400 lbs, IIRC) across the parking lot. It was something to see. His bitch was bigger than most of us too.
In just a few weeks of going every day I already feel much better. My diet is solid so the body feels much better. I miss beer badly but I'm starting to see fat rip off which is just motivating me more. Also people around me, especially at work, saying that you'll backslide. That kind of shit just helps me. Problem for me has always been starting. Once I'm lifting a few weeks, forget it, it just becomes routine.
Already tired, again, of seeing stupid shit in the gym. People doing lifts with improper technique, getting no gain from their work at all, and tying up machinery (you know the type). Fvcktards not re-racking their shit (I rerack everything I touch, even handles on the smiths), fvcktards hogging the swim lanes in the lap pool (on the wall it says 20 minutes if people are waiting), fvcktards using 3 stations at once. I've already told one idiot to re-rack his shit (it's on the wall, the #1 rule out of the list) as he left 45lb weights on incline/decline/flat benches. He asked if I worked there I said no, but I'm tired of putting up your shit. (Have to use 25-35lbs right now, sorry I'm a pussy). Another clown was using 3 stations, one bench, cables on the smith, and an iso machine. I started using the cables and he said "hey I'm on that." I then pointed to the other shit he was using at the same time and asked him if we should all go home while he works out and wait for him to get done. He didn't like that much but I could care less. And since I'm a pussy right now, I'm using stuff like 25lb dumbs for various stuff and people will be already using them. I'll ask to use them for a set while they rest and they cop an attitude. I miss working out in a real gym. Metro had no A/C just fans, and everyone was serious. Metal blaring (not my genre but enjoyed it because it was loud and stopped all chit-chat and nonsense). and everyone was doing their shit and happy to let you sub in if they were on something you were trying to use. Comradery and courtesy. That place is an hour away so 24hr it is with the 'tards.
I'm turning into an old man. I have 0 tolerance for bs at the gym now, 0. I'm trying to get in an out and literally have no time to put up with people doing dumb shit. People will sit their and surf, text, etc.

Is that the metroflex in Bedford? I've been wanting to join but seems they don't have a child care. I hit up the north park YMCA so I'm able to take both my boys with me. 4 yr and 1 yr old, this give my wife a break for 2 hours.
I hear you on the fvcktards not racking weight and douchebags doing exercises incorrect. We get those too, but since it's not a lot of people here we take care of the one that don't re rack.
I've been hitting the gym since January 4 days a week and cardio 4 days a week also. Started out at 240 no I'm down to 234-236. But know i've lost fat, my pants feel better and I can cinch up my belt to the last eye hole. Which i was able to do when I was 200.
My knees aren't as good as they used to be also. Basketball and running really ruined them. I tore my ACL, MCL, and meniscus on my left leg 2 yrs ago and 3 weeks ago I tore my meniscus on my right let. I can still do leg work but I only do light weight high rep stuff. I may need surgery on my right let but the doc will see if it heals up on its own.
oh well, just have to really concentrate on my diet. That's my weakness and the biggest reason i'm not losing weight like I want.

what do you guys eat during bulk ? I'm looking for a clean carb muscle builder. Idk what to choose among the multitude of mass gainers out there.
