Bout to join R1 community
Hey everyone. Name is Si and have been lurking here the past couple of wks. Been on the fence for an R1 for awhile.
There's no intro section (strange) but I figure it's safe to post here. I'm on the fence as to which yr to get but I am pulling the trigger. It's a toss up right now between and 09 modded and a what appears to be a bone stk 05 w/ no miles and a price too low to list. Funny thing about the 09 the x-plane I'm not a fan of the sound AT ALL but I love the torque they supposedly have. Haven't had an opportunity to ride on but I've riden a buddies 05 and love that thing!
Well look forward to learning some things and posting more once I've acquired on which looks to be in the coming days if all goes according to plan.
Later!

before buying a bike, make an appointment with an audiologist, you may have an inner ear problem that can cause issues with balance - not good on a bike!

Wow, you guys are something else. Suppose I just got smacked by you as you find me to be a troll or something.
I'll admit the ones I've heard thus far just haven't impressed me...but that isn't to say there is one out there that sounds nice. All I've heard are the stock setups. I've only been accustomed to hearing previous generations.
I've got thick skin yet at the same time that was some ass-whole shit right there. But it's all good.

Welcome, it's a good thing you have a thick skin or so you say. We don't pull any punches around here. You have to be one of the only people to say you don't like the sound of the x-plane. A nice system will make a world of difference though. Good luck with your decision...you can't go wrong either way.

The 09+ does sound pretty pathetic with the stock exhaust, but when you put some aftermarket cans on it, that thing will sound tits!

Thanks guys. I figured as much w/ the weeding out thing but it took me by surpise at 1st. I was like "wtf"? Didn't see myself coming off as brash or rude etc. ha-ha
Thanks for the clips! I've been looking at vids myself but know video doesn't do it justice no matter what. And yes, I've been smacked for saying such a sacrilegious thing about the exhaust note w/ friends too! Kinda like why you getting hardons looking at little girls type shit...it's that kinda visceral response when mentioning the x-plane. Best analogy I could come up w/.
Well thank, made an offer on the 09 so we'll see but either way I'll be in one soon and can't wait.
