Dropping a tooth
Gonna install a 16t front today.. Was wondering if anyone has good or bad feedback.. Always dropped a tooth in front and + 2 in back of all my 600's.. So i know speedohealer and the deal.. Wanted to start small on my 09 cause theres no lack of power.. Just seems to be geared tall.

I went up 2 on the rear-Alot of guy do 1 down two up with I think is too much gear for an R1. I heard going down on the first actually put more stress on the motor.

So is it better to go up in the rear or down in the front?
Also should I keep the stock chain or go 530 or 520?
Thinking about getting a 49T for the rear and leaving the front stock. Just wondering if that's a good idea or not and why.

driven power up kit look it up to me it was awesome if your bike is not to modded that will do the trick comes with sprokets and 520chain thy run about 250 bucks at cycle gear. if your done with your street mods then its perfect the best ive tried before that i had 49 on the back with stock front and stock chain had more top end but the acceleration on power up kit rules

-1/+2 here, love it but try to stay off freeways...feel like I am too high on the tach....speedo is way off. At 6,000 rpms I am still blowing by traffic but have no idea how fast I am going, guess I will find out when I get a ticket....

That's why i wanted just a -1 front.. Not too bad on speedo, and not that hard to keep wheel down.. I know -1+ 2 will be a wheelie machine. Thats not what im after.

amazingly my -1/+1 is pretty easy to keep the front wheel down.

I've got -1 +2 on my 06, it'll wheelie easy, but I don't have a problem keeping it on the floor. It works out that I just hit 12,000 in 6th at the end of Phillip Islands 900m (>1/2 Mi) main straight, which is the only place I can really stretch its legs. Apart from that, it's geared perfectly for all the tight, medium and fast open roads I ride.

So you just went down 1 on the front? I'm interested in doing this too, specially on the track where I was wringing her neck because 1st gear is sooo tall, does it wheelie easy with this setup?

On the 2009+ can you just remove the sprocket cover without putting anything in it's place?
