Why is the Damn RC-51 so sexy?
Dont get me wrong. I love my R1. Let me say that again, I love my R1. I reconfirmed that last Sunday at another trackday when we became like one and danced around the track....
However, there is something appealing about the RC51 that I cant nail down. If I had the cash, I'd probably have that bike too. I know its not as fast, but so what. It sounds awesome, and looks very trick. Sometimes I just go to the dealer to check it out and sit on it. I mean, I have no intention of trying to buy it, but I could have an affair with it
For some reason I am transfixed by this bike. I do however, realize just how much I love my R1 when exiting a turn I can pull a 51 super easy

I've always had a little thing for it myself. Could never put my finger on what exactly it was. Never ridden one before. Every time I'd see one at the dealer, I would sit on it and go vroom vroom. Please, somebody tell us what it is about that bike that's so appealing.

i wanted one, but got 929 instead- due to weight. i really wanted one first year, but every one was like "come and see my limited production historical race bike on sale- used $15,000"
and it seemed so pricey to modify.
i think they are a great deal for a competitive v twin. if they would shed 50+ lbs and do a few updates, it would be even better

I wonder if they'll kill it once they replace the 954 with the new liter bike they're working on.

I see beauty in ALL Motorcycles. Just more in some and less in others. The RC-51 is sweet looking.

My roommate has one, i think they look sweet. However, the undertail-tailsection is very ugly. I think i would get a dussault undertail to loose the square lights & huuuuuuuge mud flap.

Get it RC51, here we don't have Honda grey imports are not allowable because NO distributor. Make RC51 as scandal..... that would be more interesting..

I like Ducatis alot.... BUT I would only own one if I rode it about 600 miles a year.
What is the valve service interval on the Desmo engines ??? Like every 1000 miles ??
**** that... too much of a pain in the ass... unless it is your second or third bike.
I would buy an APRILIA RSV mille R !!! Ohlins front and rear right from the FACTORY !!! ...and Cheaper than a Ducati, with fewer service checks.
