Hardracing had Brembo M4's 108mm for $800 on sale if I'm not mistaken.

Just remember the OE calipers are monoblocks... so you'll only be upgrading the looks for under a grand really.

And this is why I just upgraded my rotors/pads/master cylinder and used all Racespec Ti hardware and powder coated my calipers to match my ohlins.

All until I can/want to afford a true upgrade in the caliper department.

Looks awesome

Do you have to rebuild the calipers after powder coating from the heat or anything?

Nope, just had to remove the pistons to get the seals out so they dint melt when cooking them, once I got them back I just ploped them back in hung them and put new fluid through the system and they work great, no leaks or nothing.

There a set always up for grabs here in the forsale section, you have to monitor it closely and be quick because goodies like that get scooped up quick like.

Ah sweet, that sound easy enough. So does power coating end up inside the caliper where the pistons go?

I've got a rear Beringer caliper I was considering getting powered coated as its pretty rough from race use and ive been scratching my head about how it would work.

I was scared of it happening but the dudes that did my calipers did an awesome job of masking the gaps where no PC was wanted. High temp tape is used and it worked out great.

thanks for the info.... Makes perfect sense now.

To many decisions now; Brembo HP, Beringer referb or new one, ISR I hate to many choices.

Sorry for the thread jack op but at least you know a few options now to

For Brembos to be an upgrade you need around 2k... Possibly less if second hand or on sale. Even 2k Brembos won't fwy you that much difference until coupled with a good MC. Options like Beringer are around $1300 for a set but doubt you'd notice that much difference... bit lighter if anything.

As everyone says best bang for buck and most noticable is upgrading the MC, Brembo RCS19 very popular (around $360 ish) and of course lines, pads and rotors.

Me to friend....Im trying to keep sane...everytime I go in one direction with my ride I decide to take a left instead of a right...I am happy with my front brakes for now...I just want to figure out my rear brakes....but I dont want to make a move yet because I really want to do something special with the swinger I.E Harris....ducati single sided conversion....greggs single sided conversion....funds cant be allocated to it right now since I am moving and money is tied up into wanting a house when we get to where were going! Soooo I dont want to dive into upgrading the rear just for it to not work with a new swinger set up ya know.

The little I've heard about Traxx is they're decent. Not sure about pricing either. You should do some research and look into other brands as well. RaceTech, Elka, Penske, are good brands as well. The only new Ohlins product I can think of under a grand is the YA343 shock or a steering damper. If you really want Ohlins forks or carts, you're going to have to save more or shop used.

Sounds like a good plan to take it slow. A good rear setup is : but takes time as in finding out. I have a GB Moto mini race caliper and hanger but after buying this Spondon modified swinger I can use it now. The GB is 64mm and I need a 84mm now.

I was going to keep the oe swing arm, brace it Ben style, use the GB caliper and get ISR fronts to match but now its all out the window.

Ultimately I think ill be happy with Brembo HP'S, but 750 for the rear but once a decide what direction to take ill sell the GB Moto and Beringer calipers.
