moving to norfolk soon

I am being stationed at the naval base in norfolk, VA any and good pieces of information in regards to the move from san diego to VA?
also, any good tips, or advice on apartments? I am not sure if i want to move into base housing or just get an apt. any info helps.

I was stationed in va beach for 4 years. The bike scene is big in the summer time and also the roads suck there so watch out.

anyone else have some input? so far, i think i am moving to virgina beach. heard good things
