How to adjust Tail&Back seat from '00 on '98?
Gotta all the fairings and the fuel tank and two seats from Yamaha YZF R1 2000 because I've got my Yamaha YZF R1 1999 it with lots of scratches and problems , and my question is how to adjust and set a Tail and Back seat? Anybody work on this before? Be glad to hear from some of you gui's

i got a 98 body and i bought it used and the previous owner wrecked and repaired the bike the best he could so he can continue to ride but he used spare body parts from another r1 so i some research (visual) on the 98-99 and 00-01 body style and found out that i have a 00-01 front seat and tail plastic but i have the 98 rear seat. now the front seat is to short (unless he broke and rewelded the sub frame) and the tail section is a little off position . so to answer ur question 98-99 plastics are different from 00-01 slightly .. i'll try to post some pix of mines

Different mounting for the riders seat, two bolts on the 98~99 bikes but just one on the 00~01.
Has been done but it is a pain
