DJ quickshifter engagement question

I've installed a dynojet quickshifter today and when I test where it's engaging (with an ohm meter), it only does so after the shift is completed and I have to pull on it fairly hard. Is this normal for these? I'm hoping in a real world situation it works as needed. Guess I'll find out soon.

With the engine off or no load on the gears, it will not provide enough force to activate. When there is load on the gears, it basically prevents the shift forks from moving thus activating and unloading the gears and it will shift....It should work fine, because that is exactly what mine does...

Awesome. I suspected as much, but just wanted to be sure. My last quickshifter was a lot different. Thanks, Tad.
