Florida owners : salvaged bikes

I just moved to Florida from Houston and Im about to buy my buddies bike that lives in South Carolina. Its a salvaged bike and was crashed / salvaged in '06 when it was new. He bought it at an auction and fixed it up and has been riding it ever since. When I asked him about the title he said it has, salvage and non rem but he didnt know what the non rem means. I looked it up and from what I found it means non-removable, so it will always be considered a salvaged bike.


I found a few threads about Florida salvaged bikes and some people have said if its out of state you need pictures of when the bike was damaged and receipts from when it was fixed. Well the bike was salvaged 6yrs ago, the receipts are lone gone. Has anyone here ever bought a salvaged bike in Florida from out of state...if so what did Florida DMV ask you for when you went to title it? Thanks for any help!

I went through this in palm beach here they either want to inspect the bike. If you cannot get the bike there they will give you a form and have you get an officer to inspect it for you. Its done that way to make sure your bike is road safe.
