Are all the track workers, lunch, transportation, loft etc mandatory? Without all that shit I would assume it could be a lot cheaper.

Looks like it. Doubt they would let you knock off the "services" they are providing, lose out on too much money

I'm sure they have plenty of people ready to pay it. If you own an exotic car then 2grand probably isn't to much money to throw down. I wonder how track days are at places like Brno, Valencia, ect?

Those tracks are well established so I would think the cost has gone down.

Looks like they are planning on motorcycle track days, I looked under the career opportunities and in one of the job descriptions read this:
Quote:
Marshal Supervisor
Location: Austin, TX
Salary Range: $15/hour
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt
Employment Type: Part Time
Description: Marshal Supervisor oversees and schedules Marshal Staff.
Duties: Marshals will work all the on-track events between all the major events at COTA. Events include: Motorcycle Track Days, Car Track Days, Professional Team Testing, Driving Schools, Riding Schools, and Open Tracks.
Qualifications: Punctuality, reliable attendance record, able to lift 25 pounds, able to bend, lift, and use hands for fine dexterity and availability weekdays and weekends. COTA prefers experience, however, COTA will have an extensive training program for all marshal positions.

That's a lot of dough. I'm thinking they're either trying to pay off some of the start up costs for building the place, or are trying to build a reputation of exclusivity. You know, the type of place your average Lamborghini or Bugatti owner can feel comfortable and not be concerned with having to associate with "the great Unwashed."

Yep. Don't see one happening there for anything affordable. More like a two day "clinic" at like $2500 is what I foresee.

I'd hate to go out on the bike to a track day for this. They'd stuff as many riders as they could.. Some like 100+ guys per session, no thanks

If they have damn good instructors it would be worth the price. Look at california superbike school. It all depends though on how exactly it is going to be ran. However, if 2k only covers the track and no profits, instructors, insurance, etc. It could get damn ugly If it covers everything and it's for the weekend and they have GREAT instructors that isn't that bad of a price at 2k.

They are murdering on price because the facility's brand new. It's just like when an all new model car or bikes released. If you want a deal you don't buy immediately ou wait.
The price will come down and there will be trackdays for bikes just give it time.
