Don't know what i'm doing
I took my 08R1 completely apart to add some race farings. When I took the the front apart, I have no idea where things go back. Can anyone help? I know where the upper stay goes, but I have no clue where the ohlins damper goes as well as how it connects to the bike since I added some clip-ons

If the OP really took his bike "completely apart" to add race fairings, i think hes got bigger problems than "how to instal the damper.

All he has to do is connect it to the left side clip on and he should be good to go

Someone said put it on the left clip, but when I put the clip-ons on, the oem clip doesn't fit anymore. Should I have to get a bracket?

Really ****ing helpful guys, nicely done.
bre9853, the steering damper was connected to the stay and the left clipon from the factory, now you have changed bars you don't have the left mounting point.
What you need is an after market mounting bracket that will clamp round the forks. There are a few options available if you search around, but here's a link to one I know works well, as it's the one I have.

+1 I don't get why someone needing help is given shit around here. You wouldn't shake your head and imply he's an idiot in real life, why do it on R1-Forum? Thanks gecko.

Thanks Ian, I was going to chime in once I realized he was trying to re-mount the damper with new clipons...
OP- If the MotoMummy solution is a bit too pricey, there are other alternatives like Harris Performance (search eBay) just get a 50mm clamp and you should be good to go (Ian correct me if I'm wrong on the sizing )
You can search this forum for the online manual with details on how the damper is mounted, torque specs, etc.
Good luck with getting her back together
