Mine is the same with 13,000 and I'd ask around the same price.. I think it's a good deal..

I have a 2001 Suzuki katana 750 now, ive been wanting an r1 for a while, been shopping around for about a month and found this, its a raven edition. KBB for excellent is around 7100. Ive rode a few yamaha's r1 & r6's love the feel of them but the R1 has the best feel for me.

Any thing I should be looking or trying to hear when I check the bike out? Ive read a few places that some people change the spedo for reason of frauding the milage, is there a way to tell this?

Just ride it around and make sure it shifts smooth and runs okay. Do a very detailed inspection on the outside of the engine and check for leaks. Some 07/08 have had valve problems and you have to pull off the tank and look down the throttle bodies and see if there is any wear or not. Good luck! I just bought an 07 a couple months ago.

I've also heard about an issue at 5500 rpms, where there has been no response to throttle. May want to get it to there and make sure you have response.

yeah...have a car go 60mph in front of you..pace them and see how far off your speedo is. Typically the speed will be higher, and much higher if gearing changes have been made. Technically the speedo healers are to get an accurate mileage reading, though I suppose you could make it read low.

At 15000 need to inspect the valves as the intake valve stems like to shear and wear down bad. No sign to look for unless he is cool with you dropping the motor and looking down the intake ports lol

Where are you located? I might be selling my 08 and if you are close to MA you might want to take a look.

I think he meant actually replacing the gauge cluster with a lower mileage one. lol In that case you really cant tell, but if he reported his mileage correctly to the state every year (if they have property taxes or whatever) he could run a vehicle check.

The best thing you can do is a test drive. I just sold mine. But if i were him you would need to have cash in hand. Other than that check all possible damage to the frame and make sure all electrical is working. Brakes, turns signals, lights, license plate light. Turin it off and on. Let it run awhile see it sounds alright. Rev it. Just stuff i would do and stuff i seen people do to my bike when i sold mine

You should meet him at his house so the bike is cool and you can hear what it sounds like and acts when you start it cold. And feel the block to make sure he didn't start it before you got there. If it's warm, you won't hear as much or anything at all if there are any problems.

I met him at a Home depot parking lot that was half way the distance of travel for both of us 1.5 hr drive. So it was cold when I started it, everything was pretty good, nice bike, so I bought it after a nice test drive. Cant figure out how to post the pic on this thread but its in my profile. Im so excited about this bike, I rode it all the way home and wow R1's are the shizz Cant wait for the riding season to start winter needs to end fast.

I like it! I'd like to pickup one exactly like that some day. I am fond of the 2007 Charcoal Silver, and it would look nice sitting next to my R6.
OP - hope you have fun. Sure you will. Post pics!!!!
