KryptonBulbs.com STOLE MY MONEY - DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SITE

Hi All

Just wanted to share my experience and maybe get some advice...
On September 26, 2012 I placed an order for a HID kit and a couple auxiliary bulbs from kryptonbulbs.com for a total of $65. $60 for the merchandise and $5 for shipping...despite the home page advertising FREE shipping, I let it slide. The money was taken out of my account immediately. I contacted the owner through the Contact Us portion of the site on 10/24 asking about the status of my order and letting him know that I would file a BBB report if I did not hear back.

I filed the BBB on 10/26 and 30 days later it was closed due to non-response from the business. My question is WTF do I do now? At this point, I just want my money back.

The way I see it, I have a few options:

-Write to the Office of the Attorney General about the business.
-File a police report
-Call my bank and see if they can credit my money (I used a visa check card)
-Call a lawyer (I have unlimited access to a prepaid lawyer program through my job since a fee for it is taken out for it every pay period)
-Orrrr....suggestions?

I do a lot of online buying and selling. I have run into this exact problem. Your bank SHOULD handle this for you, especially since you already have proof(via the BBB) that the seller is uncooperative and unresponsive.

When it happened to me, I simply told my banker what happened, she then gave me a couple forms to fill out explaining the situation, and I immediately got my money credited back. The case was then sent to be reviewed by cooperate to confirm the information I gave, and once that was done, the case was settled and I kept my money.

Your bank should offer you protection. The fact that they did not respond to the BBB, that goes against their credibility.

This is an open and shut case

Next time go the credit card route. In fact, go that route EVERY time and this will never be a problem.

Good luck finding a lawyer interested in taking on a $60 case.

Contact the Attorney General in NY and report them. File a dispute with your credit card company. Write to them and let them know that you not only expect your money back, you will be adding $100. per hour for the time it takes for you to collect. Their address is: 17100 Elizabeth Dr Holley, NY 14470.

I just did a search on Krypton Bulbs here at the forum and there are plenty of threads regarding their bad service, especially with (Josh's) willingness to contact customers back!

I thought I'd go to his site (Even though I've never ordered anything from there before) and send him an E-mail telling him that I really had no questions regarding service, as I have never done service with him. But that I just enjoy E-mailing people who don't E-mail back. I am eagerly awaiting a response!

He obviously has time to post on facebook, but not return customer E-mails. I know if I were running a business, talking to friends on facebook would be more important than my livelihood!

I think he used his debit card, so he does have a choice of doing a charge back from failure of being delivered the goods he ordered online...
