Which Model R1 is better?
I have an 02' and 04' R1 right now and I have fun with them both but I'm selling the 02' to a friend of mine and I'm thinking of getting another one. But am unsure if I should go with another 04-06 or go 07-08. What are some people's opinions? I have road a friends 07' R1 and it felt similar to my 04', but obviously had a few perks (braking, etc..)
I thought about the newer ones, but I don't like how they sound nor look.

With same mods on the 07 to 08 and 09 to 11 will put out the same power but have a different power band curve.

how boring would it be to have two bikes of the exact same model!.. if you already own an 04, obviously get an 08...
or better yet.. grow some brass ones and get yerself a crossplaner!!..

You say you don't like the way the 09+ R1s sound? I'm betting you've never heard one because they are flat out awesome sounding especially with an aftermarket exhaust!!!

My friend just picked up a 2010 R1 with Akra slip-ons. I went to his house to hear the thing start up and I almost got a chubby. The sound is amazing! I wouldn't get 2 of the same gen bike. Doesn't make sense.

I would rock the '98. With the huge exhaust can on the side.

unless you're thinking of picking the other R1 for track, I'd get a different Type of bike all together..like dirt, motard, cruiser, etc..

Buy an 08 and take it to the track like mentioned above.
If you never plan on going to the track, well both your r1's and buy a Prius

I would go with something different. No sense in having to of the same bike unless one is for street and one is for track. Myself I would probably go for a Crossplane but if you don't care for them the 07/08 would work too.
