Should I Sell the 06?
Hey all
I just wanted to see what you all thought...I am thinking about selling my bike. It is an 06 that I originally bought with 50th anni fairings on it, but I ended up swapping out the fairings for some Auctmarts since the anni fairings didnt look that great (nose was cracked on the bottom, couple pieces looked repainted, couple other pieces looked aftermarket).
So now the bike looks great...(except for some bad Auctmart fitment where the nose meets the upper side fairings)
So back to me selling it...I bought it back in June after I was so thirsty to get another sportbike after selling my 07 r6 after I got laid off. Then I got this, dissatisfied with the fairings it came with, swapped them, and now I have someone who is coming on Saturday to buy it. Now my reasons for selling vs my doubts are below...please help me clear my head so I don't sell and then regret it.
Reasons to Sell
-sell and get $$, buy a cheaper/older cruiser to turn into a bobber and pocket the spare couple Gs. and man oh man, I really want another bobber to cruise around on in the coming nice weather this season
-bike is getting older which (currently 19k miles) = more problems will develop which = more $$ for maintenance
-I've always wanted a crossplane (exhaust note is tits), but since this was my first 1000cc, I started with something that wasn't new. so i could potentially get a crossplane a year or 2 down the line. set money aside gradually for the purchase.
Reasons I'm Having Doubts
-I will miss the speed!
-I will miss the speed!
-I will miss the speed!
-The cruiser I get that I turn into a bobber will be nowhere near as fast but I will enjoy working on it though because I plan to do engine work on it (pipes, carbs, high compression pistons, the bobber conversion, etc)
-As silly as it sounds...when I ride the bike to work when weather permits, the fuel injected r1 is easier to just start and go so I don't disturb the neighborhood with noise when I leave at 645am. The cruiser/bobber I will have to let sit and warm for a minute or so.
What would you guys do?

I'd keep the 06,you will start missing the bike and could very well end up buying another one again and start losing money somewhere. The kilometres are nothing,my 05 has 45,000km and still runs like new.
Why does everyone start getting nervous around such a low odometer reading?

Keep it, unless you know exactly what you're going to replace it with. Otherwise it's like quitting a job before you've got another one lined up.

I saw inside my 06 at 30,000 and it was mint....and it gets thrashed relentlessly. I have no intention of selling it. But you could say I'm a little attached to it....

That kind of bike is only good as a 2nd bike. To boring to ride as your main bike.

Wouldn't sell it...Mileage should scare you. I sold my 04 with 68,000 miles on it....

I have a 06 R1 with 8k on it and I wouldnt trade it for a brand new R1. Dont think that it will ever look out of style.. But if dont feel safe on the bike because of miles on it then thats your call

I think you will not only miss the power and speed, but tossing ur R1 thru the corners as well. That cruiser would not give u that same adrenaline rush

When I was at deal's gap I spent more time on my cruiser than I did on my R1. To me the R1 isn't any fun on the street because of the shear speed you have to do to push it at all. The cruiser is a lot of fun at something a lot closer to legal speeds
